Sports related injuries are a common occurrence amongst people of all ages and skill levels. At RPI, we strive to assist each athlete in restoring function and returning to their optimal level of play and reduce the risk of re-injury.

The primary focus of this program is to assess each individual and develop a plan of care appropriate for their sport-specific needs. Our physical therapists use a comprehensive approach to sports rehabilitation management through the use of various manual therapy techniques, functional movement analysis, sport specific therapeutic exercise progressions, and neuromuscular rehabilitation development. We work to address myofascial and joint restrictions, nerve entrapment, biomechanical limitations, impaired functional movement patterns, and postural dysfunction in order to treat the “whole picture” in restoring function.

It is important to us to consider all aspects of each injury – how it happened, how it affects you, your functional limitations in regards to both daily activities and sport, your previous level of ability, and your personal goals for return to sport. We are able to evaluate and treat various sports related injuries, both acute and chronic, for people of all skill levels – whether you enjoy playing recreationally or are a member of a competitive sports program.

We understand an athlete’s eagerness to return to their sport as quickly as possible. Our therapists take pride in the rehabilitation of the athlete. We have therapists that are trained in running gait analysis and Sportsmetrics ACL Injury Prevention and Performance Program.
